For some, peace may be described as the easing of conflict or a formal agreement on the diplomatic table. However, for the organization, true peace has a dimension that is much closer to everyday life: it is present when a mother in a remote village can give birth to her baby safely, when underprivileged families get proper medical access, and when humanity is able to heal post-disaster trauma.

This spirit is the main pulse in commemorating the 109th anniversary of 'Aisyiyah this year (2026), which carries the grand theme: "Strengthening Humanitarian Da'wah to Achieve Peace". A theme that is not just a slogan, but a historical call that finds its real form in the land of Cianjur.

Axis of History: Synergy of Love between 'Aisyiyah and PKU History records that the 'Aisyiyah women's movement and the PKU health agency (which was originally called Penolong Sanyangsaraan Oemoem or PKO) were born from the womb of ideology and very close family ties. The key figures behind these two movements came from the same extended family in Kampung Kauman, Yogyakarta, known as "Bani Hasyim Kauman".

Siti Bariyah, the first General Chairperson of 'Aisyiyah, was the younger sister of Haji Muhammad Syuja', a visionary figure who pioneered the founding of PKO Muhammadiyah in 1920. This brotherly relationship cut through traditional bureaucratic barriers at that time. When Haji Syuja' launched the idea of building a clinic and hospital for the poor, the 'Aisyiyah movement stood at the forefront to raise funds and provide logistical support from the grassroots. This historical collaboration becomes a concrete manifestation (orthopraxy) of Al-Ma'un's theology, which emphasizes that Islamic preaching must be realized in real humanitarian action - caring for the weak, healing the sick, and maintaining human dignity.

Manifestation in Cugenang: Establishment of the PKU Muhammadiyah Cianjur Pratama Clinic A century later, this commitment to preaching humanity has become a real reality in Cugenang District, an area that was devastated by the large earthquake in 2022. Through the long-term post-disaster recovery program under the banner of Lazismu's "Indonesia Alert", a humanitarian effort was successfully established.

On Saturday, January 31 2026, the General Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu'ti, inaugurated the operations of the PKU Muhammadiyah Cianjur Pratama Clinic. This clinic was built on 2,700 square meters of waqf land in Sarampad Village, Cugenang District, as a result of close collaboration between PDM Cianjur, Central Lazismu, and Central Java Lazismu. Under the leadership of Dr. Hani Zahia Suarsa, this clinic is targeted to continue to develop until it is upgraded to a Type D Hospital in the next five years.

Synergy of Philanthropy and Professional Governance The presence of this clinic is not just a physical building for medical services, but a representation of a public trust that is managed professionally in the field. This is where functional synergy works in harmony:

Philanthropy Side (Lazismu Cianjur): Acting as a collector and distributor of public funds, ensuring that every rupiah from donors' zakat, infaq and alms (ZIS) is channeled appropriately to support the continuity of health service operations.

Clinic Governance Side (Administration & Finance Section): Acting as a bastion of daily accountability, managing financial and operational administration so that public funds are converted transparently into medicines, ambulance services and reliable medical facilities for the residents of Sarampad Village and its surroundings.

Through accountable financial management and clinic administration, every donation is not only an instrument for physical healing, but also rebuilds the social resilience of communities that have been shaken by disaster.

Cover Welcoming the 109th anniversary of 'Aisyiyah, the presence of the PKU Muhammadiyah Cianjur Pratama Clinic is proof that humanitarian da'wah is a real way to weave sustainable peace. By maintaining health and ennobling the lives of vulnerable communities in Cugenang, Persyarikatan continues the eternal mission that was initiated by its predecessors a century ago. Happy 109th Anniversary 'Aisyiyah, let's continue to move to bring peace to the universe.
